Our design process considers factors that directly affect the cost and quality of the fibreglass, such as; type of glass to be produced, production method, heating medium available, and the desired yield.

Recent projects where Fives design, equipment and services were successfully implemented on Fibreglass applications are:
- A 10 Zone 4700kW Advanced boost system and an 8 zone 300kW boost system for 2 separate gas fired furnaces for E-Glass Fibre production in China.
- A complete hot end solution (consisting of a 6tpd electrically heated (with gas fired warm top) vertical melter, gas fired distribution channel and 2 bushing forehearths for (6- 9 micron) sodium silicate fibreglass production in Latvia.
- Re-design and enlargement of an Oxy/gas fired furnace system in India including the installation of advanced multi-zone electric boosting (contributing 30-35% of the melt energy). Production at the plant has been successfully converted to a low-boron glass composition - deemed to be technically difficult within the industry.
